Welcome to the london aquatics centre the most technologically advanced and stunning swimming facility in the world and home of the 2012 london legacy. The roof the distinctive long span roof is a stunning piece of architecture. London aquatics centre has a seating capacity of 2 500. A concept inspired by the fluid geometry of water in motion creating spaces and a surrounding environment in sympathy with the river landscape of the olympic park.

After the paralympic games the aquatic centre was deconstructed to reduce its space. In games mode the facility had a maximum capacity of 17 500 with 15 000 of those seats in temporary structures to the east and west of the main building.

An undulating roof sweeps up from the ground as a wave enclosing the pools of the centre with its unifying gesture. London aquatics centre in its legacy mode opened to public in march 2014. The undulating roof of the building is 160m in length and approximately 80m in width. The roof is composed of a series of undulating trusses that span the 525 foot length and 263 foot width of the main interior space of the complex without a single column or support protruding into.
